Power Lock is pleased to report that JL Audio, Inc. (www.jlaudio.com), one of the finest and coveted mobile, home, and marine audio electronics brands, chose Power Lock to protect its demonstration vehicle from being stolen.
In an email to Rick Fass president of Power Lock International, Jim Clayton of JL Audio wrote,
"Hello Rick,
After our 2004 Escalade JL Audio Demo Vehicle was stolen and stripped, we installed a Power Lock.
Nine months later Power Lock prevented the same thing from happening again.
The thieves used the exact same method as before but could not start the vehicle.
Power Lock works!"
These manufacturers' demonstration vehicles are loaded with the latest of mobile audio electronics costing thousands of dollars.
We at Power Lock are proud and quite flattered. Let's face it; JL Audio has its choice of every security system available today. JL Audio chose the finest: Power Lock. Our thanks to JL Audio for their trust in a Power Lock Security System.
POWER LOCK WORKS ON HEAVY EQUIPMENT AS WELL
In addition to vehicle applications, the Power Lock® anti-theft product works to protect heavy equipment from theft and unauthorized use as well.
Matt Harder of Earthworks & Sprinklers emails:
"On or about May 15, 2007, we had a potential joy rider attempt to start one of our Case 660 trenchers. The suspect was able to get the ignition to come on by jamming a screw driver into the ignition switch. The great news is Power Lock prevented the Case 660 from starting. If the 660 engine started, the trencher would have landed in a pond. At that point I would have potential EPA fines anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000. A new Case 660 trencher is approximately $70,000. I have 6 Case 660s and each one has the new "wireless" Power Lock security system installed. Power Lock saved my machines and the environment."
We at Power Lock are always glad to see our product protect our customers vehicles and in particular, for our heavy equipment customers, to minimize any disruptions that such attempted thefts or unauthorized use can have on their business.
ACURA INTEGRA TYPE R
Street Story - Integra Theft Attempt
August 27, 2001
Some of you have heard of one of our customers named David in Connecticut. He has had a series of losses from theft including a high performance street bike and a previous 1997 Acura Integra Type R which he only had for 3 days before it was hot-wired and stolen. When he bought another Type R last October to replace the one stolen, he installed PowerLock after thorough research on the internet. He added three additional layers with two AutoLocks (for the brake and clutch pedals) as well as outfitting the vehicle with LoJack.
I was out of town this weekend and came home about 11pm Saturday night to the following message on my business answering machine: "Kenton, this is David in Connecticut, my car was stolen from in front of my house tonight" please call me as soon as you can. "It was after midnight his time, so I e-mailed him my home phone and asked him to call me first thing Sunday morning."
He called Sunday afternoon about 3:30 pm very excited. He said, "I thought it was gone, but it was recovered a couple of blocks away" this PowerLock is awesome!" As it turned out, the thief (or thieves) "Slim Jim'ed" the driver's door to gain entry, bent the clutch pedal sideways to circumvent the AutoLock, broke out the ignition switch in the column and attempted to hot-wire it - which was without success. According to investigators at the scene of the recovery, they then put it in neutral and pushed the car a block down a cross-street to a downhill slope on a street that runs parallel to David's and rolled it down the hill to pop the clutch - which was unsuccessful because of the additional fuel circuit protection on the PowerLock.
At that point, they abandoned the theft attempt and left it to be recovered with the LoJack device a short time later. David, who is a plumber by trade, then asked if he could promote PowerLock in Connecticut and New York in his spare time. He thought he would just leave the column all torn up - with the ignition switch dangling - and use his car as a demonstration of how effective PowerLock is in the real world.
This incident is another confirmation that, when it comes to where the rubber meets the road in vehicle theft prevention, PowerLock lives up to its claim: "The Ultimate Vehicle Anti-theft System".

Subject: Thanks for installing the powerlock on my car!
Hi Steve,
I'm not sure if you remember me, but you installed the powerlock on my car a few months ago when I lived inBuena Park. I have a tan 1988 Acura.
Over the weekend I really got to see how the powerlock worked. My boyfriend and I and a few of our friends went to Tijuana over the weekend for my boyfriend's cousins birthday party. We had taken my car down there, and when we got back to it we noticed it had been opened. Luckily the windows weren't broken, but when I got in the car I noticed the radio was on. It seems that the thieves tried to used a screwdriver to start my car, but they couldn't start it because of the powerlock.
My boyfriend and my friends were really impressed. When I first bought the powerlock, my boyfriend was really skeptical, because he had thought there was still some way to bypass it and start the car, but after this weekend he said, "Wow, that thing really works!" because he says "people in TJ really know how to steal cars". I know if the powerlock hadn't been on my car, the car would have been GONE and we would have been STUCK in Mexico.
I just wanted to thank you for installing it on my car and ask that you forward my thanks for whoever invented the powerlock!
Thanks again!

A CHRISTMAS STORY
THANK YOU Ultimate Security Systems Corporation for Saving our Christmas!
Last Christmas Eve my 17 year-old son was doing some last-minute shopping at the Montclair Plaza in California's Inland Empire. His 1971 Chevy short-bed truck (which has been fully restored and is a real beauty) was parked in the lot of the shopping center when it came under attack by car thieves.
The thieves tried everything to get the vehicle to start, but because I had installed a Power Lock anti-theft device on the truck, they couldn't steal it. When my son returned to his truck, he was overcome with relief, relief that the thieves could not get around the Power Lock.
Had his truck been stolen, our holiday would have been entirely different. We are a family of classic car and truck enthusiasts; it would have brought us all down. Thanks to Power Lock we had a good holiday after all. I've since installed a Power Lock on every vehicle we own.
Thanks again for saving our Christmas,
Mike Stacy

POWER LOCK SAVED MY TRUCK TWICE!
Dear Power Lock,
Your product saved our vehicle from the clutches of thieves twice! We installed a Power lock on our 2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab SR5 4X4. Late one Sunday evening a thief popped the locks on the truck and tried everything they could to get it to start, thanks to Power Lock, they gave up, and even left their tools behind!
Then, six months later, another thief tried again, and gave up when they couldn't get the truck started. I am very impressed with how well the device works, I know first hand now that if a thief can't start the car, then they can't drive it away.
Last week I purchased a new truck - I'm planning on having a Power Lock installed immediately.
I recommend Power Lock to everyone.
Sincerely,
Sam Butterworth

CHEVROLET ASTRO VAN
2-part story - June, 2001
Southern California
The Chevrolet Astro van was beautifully customized but was not equipped with Power Lock. It was hot-wired and stolen from a shopping mall in an affluent section of Orange County in Southern California during regular business hours. 3 days later, the vehicle was recovered by police 5 miles from the mall.
It had been "chopped" and stripped of everything except the rear axle and body panels and wrapped into a blue metal bundle. A tow bar was attached to what was left of the vehicle, the surfaces were coated with WD-40 to prevent fingerprint identification. The "Astro trailer" was then wrapped thoroughly in a blue tarp and towed to an industrial parking area and abandoned. The customer bought a replacement van with the insurance settlement and after researching theft deterrents on the Internet, chose to protect his investment with Power Lock.
THE REPLACEMENT VAN 19 DAYS LATER
I see that you posted my pictures and story... I hope they have some impact. Now, are you ready for an update? Last night there was an attempt to steal my replacement van !!!
I was in a good part of town (Torrance, California) in K-Mart for no more than 10 minutes. I was parked in the main parking lot traffic aisle and it was well lighted. I came out and found broken driver's window, pried window frame and popped ignition cover - BUT THE VAN WAS STILL THERE !!!!!
I don't know how far they got with hot-wiring - but they sure did NOT get around the PowerLock! The Police dusted for fingerprints but said these guys were pretty good and wore gloves. I was able to drive the van home and it goes into the body shop for repair tomorrow. This incident won't cost me much as I have no deductible on my insurance. I am so happy that I have the PowerLock now. Sheez, I didn't think we would be testing it so soon. Perhaps you want to update the Theft Gallery with this chapter to my story? You have my permission. Anyway, I thought you would get a kick out of all this.

ARIZONA WEEKEND ROD RUN
THANK YOU Power Lock!!
While attending a weekend rod run in Arizona last October, I was shocked to see that my '41 Chevy's ignition was hanging by the wires under the dash with a two ended alligator clip still attached to two terminals.
Seems that during the night, while the car was parked on the show grounds, somebody tried to hotwire my car. Power Lock told me that the only way someone would be able to steal my car would be to put it on a trailer or tow it away. I'm a bigger believer of their motto now than I was initially. At first I thought the concept was good, but now, I know it's true.
This has to be the best classic anti-theft device out there.

PROFESSIONALLY DRILLED
Dear Power Lock,
Here's the story of my truck, 2004 Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner (4dr) - with TRD and SR5
packages. When searching for a security system for my truck, a friend of mine deadpanned that no
matter what type of system you buy for your vehicle, "If they want it, they'll get it. " I chose
Power Lock... and for that reason, there's now one more thief that didn't get what he
wanted.
Although I live in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, a thief struck right in front of my own house. Opening the driver's door in the morning, I found that my lower dash had been completely removed, with the factory bolts and screws placed in a neat pile on myfloor mat. The floor was covered with metal shavings. The thief had drilled a hole in the ignition to remove the key tumblers, which were pulled out and left on the floor mat next to the bolts and screws.
I can only imagine the thief's surprise when all his work was for nothing - because my Power Lock STILL prevented my truck from being started, and the horn must have sent him running.
This was no amateur car thief - he was very careful not to damage the truck's exterior or interior and he used precision tools. In fact, I reported to the Hollywood Police that nothing inside the truck was touched or taken - the stereo, my sunglasses, book of CDs, and even $50 in cash were still there. All that thief wanted was my truck - and thanks to Power Lock, he went home EMPTY HANDED.

Subject: Believe the Hype
Believe the hype Powerlock works!!! I was awaken from my sleep at four in the morning by the police knocking at my door asking me why my truck a 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab on 24" rims was in the middle of the street in front of my house. I soon learned that some one had attempted to steal it. Apparently the plan was to get my truck out of the drive way and start it up on the road so I would not hear them driving away, little did they know that my truck was equipped with power lock and to their frustration they could not get the truck started. Panicking they left the vehicle in the street and fled. Powerlock was true to its word, I highly recommend it. If it had not been for this product my truck would have been just another statistic.
